The Bayou Classic is an annual college football classic rivalry game between the Grambling State University Tigers and the Southern University Jaguars. The series began in 1932, and the first game under the name “Bayou Classic” was held in 1974 at Tulane Stadium in New Orleans. This event is more than just a football game; it is one of the country’s greatest college sports rivalries, attracting fans and alumni from both universities to New Orleans each November. The Bayou Classic has become one of New Orleans’ biggest and most-anticipated sporting events, cherished by fans of Grambling State and Southern University. The weekend is filled with tradition, fun, and football. What started as a simple football game between two historically black universities has evolved into an event that showcases the rich culture and heritage of Louisiana. The 50th Annual Bayou Classic is scheduled to take place on Saturday, November 30, 2024, at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans.  In addition to the football game, there will be a battle of the bands.
