In July 2023, the CAA announced that it had changed its name to Coastal Athletic Association (CAA)  from the Colonial Athletic Association.  (CAA) is a NCAA Division I athletic conference with 14 member basketball institutions. The CAA Men's and Women's Basketball Championships are held annually to determine the conference's representatives in the NCAA basketball tournaments. The CAA Men's Basketball Championship has been held at the Entertainment & Sports Arena in Washington, D.C. since 2020.
